Spicy Witch Productions is proud to announce their fall 2015 season. Spicy Witch Productions will be mounting Shakespeare’s The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by founding company member, Meghan Blakeman, performed in repertory with Gina Gionfriddo’s 2008 dark comedy, Becky Shaw, directed by Phoebe Brooks in her SWP directorial debut. Spicy Witch Productions is committed to producing professional and engaging repertory performances of classical and contemporary works that explore similar themes in relation to gender and identity. This season, SWP investigates male and female power dynamics in both friendship and romantic relationships. The cast, which feature the same actors tackling both plays, explore the dark side of romantic comedy in both works. The works as a pair explore men’s ownerships over female bodies, female submission to men in romantic relationships, and the “knight in shining armor” complex. The season cast features Nick Bombicino, Mia Canter, Maren Fischer, John Hardin, Danielle Jorn, Kelly Karcher, Aidan Kinney, Rebecca Weiss, and Isabelle Russo. Performances run December 3-14 at the Flamboyan Theater at The Clemente (107 Suffolk Street between Rivington and Delancey. F train to Delancey Street F train or J,M,Z train to Essex Street.). Tickets are $20 per show or $30 for both plays. For more information and to purchase tickets visit www.spicywitchproductions.com.
