At the height of summer, tomatoes are ripening, begging for a feast. Chef Meredith Kurtzman pays homage to her favorite fruit with Tomato•ness, a tribute in five courses.

Meredith Kurtzman spent twenty years in textile design and screen printing before turning to a life in pastry. She has worked at Verbena, Bouley Bakery, Esca, and most notably at Otto Pizzeria, where she rose to prominence as, in the words of New York Magazine, “a gelato goddess.” Currently she is crafting pastries at AlDiLa in Park Slope and enjoying her garden as much as possible.
