THE WAY STATION PRESENTS A BOB DYLAN BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE
May 30, 2014, 10pm-12am
with The Zimmymen and the Wimmymen performing
Bringing It all Back Home

The Way Station continues their Tribute Series with a birthday tribute to Bob Dylan on May 30 from 10pm to midnight. The Zimmymen and the Wimmymen are a merry band of Dylanologists who congregate annually to celebrate and perform the work of the Bard, Hibbing Minnesota’s own Robert Zimmerman, aka Bob Dylan. This show will mark the 16th year for these annual get-togethers and the second consecutive year at The Way Station. The band will focus on 1965’s Bringing It all Back Home, which the band will perform in its entirety, track by bloody track. The Zimmymen and the Wimmymen will round out the evening with cuts from Dylan’s extensive catalogue. So Zimmy fans should set “their boot heels to be wanderin’” to Prospect Heights on 5/30 for an evening of wall-to-wall Dylan. Bring your thought-dreams for analysis, and we’ll make an “attempt to shovel a glimpse into the ditch of what each one means”.

The Way Station Tribute Series has included The Zimmymen and the Wimmymen performing Dylan’s 1975 release Blood on The Tracks on July 26, 2013 and a Lou Reed Birthday Tribute including seven bands reimagining the music of this proto-punk proselytizer on March 5, 2014. Upcoming tributes include Sweetheart of the Rodeo (The Legacy Edition) with five bands reinterpreting this seminal 1968 release in album order by The Byrds and on November 5 we will honor the songbook of Gram Parsons.
