The String Orchestra of Brooklyn Presents: Pete Lanctot & The Stray Dogs with Sarah Goldfeather
Oct 16, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm| $10
The String Orchestra of Brooklyn is proud to present an evening of two of its long-time players’ solo music at Littlefield: the songs of Pete Lanctot and Sarah Goldfeather.
These two members of the String Orchestra of Brooklyn head up two of Brooklyn’s most prominent Folk/Americana Bands: Pete Lanctot and the Stray Dogs, and The Sarah Goldfeather Band. This Thursday, they’ll lead the SOB in its first exciting foray into expanding from the concert hall to the club and showcasing some of the diverse talents of its members.
Re-imagined folk ballads, avant garde approaches to the blues, and exciting original Americana music mark this not to be missed double bill at Littlefiled on Thursday!
New York Music Daily writes that, “Pete Lanctot personifies pretty much everything good about New York’s most happening music scene.” His songs are surreal and mysterious narratives featuring sordid casts of characters who’s origins are vague, and seem equally likely to be found in present day New York City, a Memphis juke joint of the 1920s, or hitchhiking a depression era plains state highway and steeped in the American traditions of blues, folk and country. Lanctot released his EP, “Caledonia”, in February.
Sarah Goldfeather is a Minnesota-born, Brooklyn-based violinist, singer, and songwriter. She is the bandleader for her eponymous indie-folk band, and released her “downright charming” and “endearing” EP, “Goldfeather”, in January.
