A presentation of The Rooftop Growing Guide: How to Transform Your Roof into a Garden or Farm, followed by a panel discussion with leading rooftop experts from Gotham Greens, North End Grill, and The Roof Garden Meetup Group. Presented by author Annie Novak. Annie is the head farmer and cofounder of the nation’s first commercial green roof vegetable farm, the Eagle Street Rooftop Farm atop Broadway Stages in Brooklyn, as well as the manager of the Edible Academy at the New York Botanical Garden, and founder and director of Growing Chefs, a field-to-fork food education program. Her new book The Rooftop Growing Guide is a stylish, easy-to-use book for urban gardeners interested in utilizing their roof space for growing food. Annie presents the book at Greenlight with a photo slide show of farms and gardens featured in the book, revealing the hidden world of rooftop farming and how you, too, can get growing. The presentation is followed by an interactive discussion with experts in the rooftop farming and gardening field.
