The Filmshop Presents… All You Can Eat- An Insatiable Night of Short Film and Live Music

Join The FilmShop on June 19th at The Bell House for a night of gluttonous delight that is bound to fulfill any filmophile’s appetite! Our latest installment, The Filmshop presents All You Can Eat includes a themed screening of 3-minute shorts created by the Filmshop members based on their interpretations of the classic expression. The night will also include live performances by Chaos Chaos, The Teen Age and Fixtures plus a vinyl dance party with Sultans of Swat!
Doors open at 7 pm, and the festivities get kicked off at 8 pm w/ a live performance by Fixtures followed by the screening and party.
This event is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC).
Founded in 2009, The FilmShop is a collective of emerging independent filmmakers and media producers committed to creating new work through collaborative development. Chapters in Brooklyn and Manhattan meet weekly to workshop projects, incubate new ideas, and support their peers. “All You Can Eat” is a joint production of the Manhattan and Brooklyn groups.
ABOUT THE BANDS:
Formerly known as Smoosh, the Saavedra sisters (Asy and Chloe) spent part of their teens opening for bands like Sleater-Kinney. Now known as Chaos Chaos, they’re bring their brand of breezy electro-pop to a stage near you.
Formed in a Brooklyn basement in late 2012, The Teen Age plays a mix of 70s-inspired punk and garage rock, featuring crunchy guitars and sing-along ready choruses destined to have you dancing like you did when you were a teenager.
The band: singer/guitarist Kris Liakos, bassist Jay McGuire, drummer Neil Janowitz and a skull name Gerry. The sound: loud rock and roll for people who like country. Don’t mess with the skull.
