Taste of Oaxaca Supper Club

After having both taken food centric trips to Oaxaca in the last year chefs Anne and Elyse are excited to share the flavors, presentations and colors that they discovered through their classes and meals in Mexico’s culinary capital.
Join them on Friday March the 6th at 267, located in Brooklyn’s charming Boerum Hill neighborhood, for a night of live music, bold flavors and libations.
The evening will begin promptly at 7 with light snacks and will be followed by a live set from XNY. With a four-course seated dinner to follow.
Drinks are encouraged and are BYOB. Please bring to share in the spirit of a communal meal.

Tostado de Pulpo
Braised octopus with avocado, radish, tomatillo + cilantro oil
Heirloom Black Bean Soup
with nopales, shrimp + squash blossoms
with mole rojo, pickled red onion, braised chayotes + rice
+ homemade tortillas

Cotija Ice Cream with caramelized plantains, macadamia, coconut mousse + shaved oaxacan chocolate

Anne Alexander – As an alumna of the Culinary Institute of America, Anne has spent time on the line at Gramercy Tavern and in the test kitchen at Saveur . She also holds certificates in both wines and spirit studies from WSET at the International Wine Center. Currently she splits her time between working with Elyse on private events and catering, bartending in Bed Stuy and hustling in New York.
Elyse Bekins – Elyse studied culinary arts at the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. She has worked at Tom Colicchio’s Riverpark, and as a cheesemonger at Murrays Cheese. For the past two years Elyse has focused on private dining and catering, bringing her market-driven cuisine into apartments across the city. Elyse is also the founder of the Brooklyn Soup Club, a weekly soup delivery service.
XNY – Brooklyn based rock duo, XNY, is composed of Pam Autuori (vox/guitar) and Jacob Schrieber (drums). The two met as next door neighbors while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. Soon after joining together the two formulated a catchy, dance-inspired rock sound, infused with blues and punk undertones. Combining witty, anecdotal lyrics with driving, dynamic rhythms XNY has created a style all their own that continues to attract fan and media attention alike. In addition to being named 1 of 5 Best Indie Rock Bands in Brooklyn by Metro, XNY has received press praise from Vogue, MTV, Fuse TV and Nylon to name a few.
