2017_JUNE_FSAT_Taja Lindley_Submerge 2

On June 3, Target First Saturday celebrates Pride Month
and the special exhibition We Wanted a Revolution: Black
Radical Women, 1965–85. Highlights include music by
New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, SassyBlack, and
Tamar-kali; the kickoff of our Black Queer Brooklyn
on Film series with screenings and performances by
D’hana Perry, New Negress Film Society, and Taja
Lindley; and a ball hosted by Sydney UltraOmni.
Throughout 2017, Target First Saturdays highlight
female-identified and gender-nonconforming artists
and organizations that challenge gender conventions.
This programming is part of A Year of Yes: Reimagining
Feminism at the Brooklyn Museum, which celebrates the
10th anniversary of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for
Feminist Art.
