Stephen O’Connor and Molly Prentiss read at Pete’s Candy Store

Pete’s Reading Series is time-traveling a bit for our next reading — to the 1980s and the 1780s! We’re excited to present Stephen O’Connor (THOMAS JEFFERSON DREAMS OF SALLY HEMMINGS) and Molly Prentiss (TUESDAY NIGHTS IN 1980) in the back room of Pete’s Candy Store this Thursday night! Come for the culture, stay for the cute backyard and tasty sandwiches.
Pete’s Candy Store is located at 709 Lorimer Street in Williamsburg. The closest trains are the L and G at Lorimer/Metropolitan. The reading will start at 7:30 p.m.

STEPHEN O’CONNOR is the author of the novel, Thomas Jefferson Dreams of Sally Hemings, forthcoming from Viking-Penguin, as well as two collections of short fiction, Here Comes Another Lesson and Rescue, and of two works of nonfiction, Will My Name Be Shouted Out?, a memoir, and Orphan Trains; The Story of Charles Loring Brace and the Children He Saved and Failed, biography/history. His fiction and poetry have appeared in The New Yorker, Conjunctions, One Story, The Missouri Review, Poetry Magazine, Electric Literature, Agni, Threepenny Review, The Quarterly, Partisan Review, among many other places.
MOLLY PRENTISS was born in Santa Cruz, California in 1984. She has has been a Writer in Residence at The Blue Mountain Center, Vermont Studio Center and at the Workspace program the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and received the Emerging Writer Fellowship from the Aspen Institute. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the California College of the Arts. Tuesday Nights in 1980 is her first novel. She currently lives, writes and walks around in Brooklyn, New York.
