State of Wonder Group Show
Nov 8, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - Nov 30, 2013 @ 10:00 pm
On-line gallery, State of Wonder (www.stateofwonderart.com) is pleased to present our first exhibit of original artwork and limited edition prints at Picture Farm Gallery, 338 Wythe Avenue Brooklyn. The exhibit opening is Friday, November 8th, 6-10 pm.
This inaugural group show includes the work of six artists who are featured on theState of Wonder website. Tokyo-born artist Yuri Shimojo, on the heels of a recent exhibit at a historical Zen temple in Kyoto, will show her 2-color serigraph prints. Rob Fischer’s mounted photographs of the nocturnal movements of animals, which he captured on a ‘trail camera’ used by hunters to track animal behaviors, are both haunting and humorous. Cynthia Rojas creates a brand new mythology on her set of beautifully painted ceramic plates. Inspired by nature, history and art, Linda Zimmermann’s collages capture the poetry in found materials. Sara Woster’s limited edition screen prints are overlaid with an explosion of mixed media, collage and ink.
On November 9th from 5-6 at the Picture Farm Gallery, philosopher, scholar, author, and State of Wonder artist, Andrew Rawlinson will give a talk about the Life, Love & Death from his bookThe Hit: Into the Rock’n’Roll Universe and Beyond, its cover designed by Storm Thorgerson and his team at StormStudios.
