On the heels of a sold-out St. Louis, Missouri debut, IFP will bring NYU graduate Michael Larnell’s CRONIES to the Made in NY Media Center in DUMBO, Brooklyn, for a weeklong, exclusive theatrical run from December 11-17, 2015. CRONIES is Larnell’s first feature film and is executive produced by his mentor and NYU professor Spike Lee.

CRONIES premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, receiving rave reviews and earning Larnell a place on Indiewire’s 20 Directors to Watch in 2015 list. A St. Louis native, Larnell wrote, produced, edited and directed the film while earning his MFA at New York University’s Tisch
School of the Arts.

CRONIES pays tribute to the director’s upbringing in St. Louis, capturing a day in the life of three young men in a moment of transition. Through improvisation, offbeat humor and a homegrown soundtrack– all of the songs in the film are performed by local St. Louis artists– CRONIES confronts the realities of growing up and unexpectedly outgrowing childhood friendships.
