Lincoln Center’s Sound + Vision Live presents Sound and Chaos: The Story of BC Studio. This documentary follows Martin Bisi, a producer/engineer who, for over 30 years, has been recording music from his studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn, a place known for its polluted waterway and not for its creative output. He has worked with many influential musicians, including Sonic Youth, Swans, Herbie Hancock, Brian Eno and the Dresden Dolls. So many albums have been recorded in his studio, but what happens when gentrification starts to encroach on his neighborhood?

The documentary includes interviews with musicians such as Lee Ranaldo, Michael Gira, Brian Viglione of the Dresden Dolls, Bob Bert, Bill Laswell and Michael Holman.

The screening is followed by a Q&A with Bisi, plus a live music set.
