Shelf Life December Reading

Shelf Life is a new reading series featuring writers of all kinds of nonfiction. This month, we’ve got three awesome Brooklyn women coming your way. Our December line-up will consist of readings by Erika Anderson, Elissa Bassist, and Michelle Orange, followed by a brief Q&A. Come for the great writing, stay to hang out with friends and drink beers in a cozy space full of books!
About our readers:
ERIKA ANDERSON is an editorial assistant at Guernica and teaches for the Sackett Street Writers’ Workshop. Her work has appeared in Creative Nonfiction, Guernica, Interview Magazine, Hunger Mountain, Electric Literature’s blog The Outlet and the Brooklyn Rail. She has an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights, where she co-hosts the Renegade Reading Series for emerging writers.
ELISSA BASSIST edits the “Funny Women” column on TheRumpus.net. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Creative Nonfiction, Slate, Jezebel, The Paris Review Daily, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, among other impressive publications.
