Main Exhibition: Rachel Sussman’s The Oldest Living Things in the World
Intervention by slowLAB (5:00 PM) The Netherlands-based design research platform hosts a dialogue with the Red Hook community on the topic Slow Economy, featuring Henriette Waal and community brewing concept “Edible Landscape – Outdoor Brewery” as well as Jeanne van Heeswijk on “radicalizing the local”: the process of local communities coming together to imagine and co-produce their own futures.
Live music by CUDDLE MAGIC (7:30 PM) Chamber Pop band that uses a quirky blend of instruments to create complex arrangements of deceptively simple folk melodies with perpetually shifting rhythms.
Live music by BROOKLYN QAWWALI PARTY (9:00 PM) Inspired by recordings of the late great Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Brook Martinez founded Brook’s Qawwali Party in 2004 as an experiment.
