Scrying the Sphere of Sensation: A Talk on Astrology and Tarot
Jan 4, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm| $8
Of all the early 20th century magicans who helped to shape the modern occult Tarot, few were as bizarre and original as Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers.
The astonishingly complex and wholly new astrological interpretations found in Mathers’ “Book T” and “The Tree of Life Projected in a Solid Sphere” were the starting gun for a period of furiously competitive Tarot innovation, spawning the well known systems of Arthur Edward Waite, Aleister Crowley, and Paul Foster Case.
At this Feast, we are proud to open our 2014 season by introducing our newest member of the Ship of Fools … the Archbishop of Dolts! Over the course of the evening, he’ll steer our merry crew through the heavens, contemplating the zodiac and planetary associations of both the major and minor arcana.
Rather than focusing on the divinatory meanings of the cards, our Foolish friend will reveal the Astrological Key to the Tarot. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to add these highly practical and rarely discussed Tarot techniques to your mystical toolkit!
$8 entry. Door prizes and complimentary wine provided.
