Editing is the final draft of your story. Participants will experience what it’s like to work a cut through revisions in a professional setting. Modeled will be approaches to critique, restructuring, and revising an edit. Participants take away revised versions of their projects and tools and techniques for taking it through to completion.
Through real-world examples from professionals working in the field, participants will gain a deep understanding of how a cut moves through revisions and towards a fine cut.
Modeled in the class is a collaborative approach to creative thinking a critique used successfully in the field.
Students individually forward their personals projects and receive invaluable feedback and the information necessary for taking the next steps in editing their project.
Students will have the opportunity to meet and network with other makers/editors at the same juncture in the creative process.
Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback unique to their personal projects from peers and professionals.
Prerequisites & Preparation:
No prereqs necessary although this course does align as the third of a series (Pitch/Writers’ Room/Rough Cuts) Participants are expected to bring with them a rough cut of a short or 1-3 scenes from a feature they are working on.
