In Conversation with Nadia Murad

Join us for an intimate conversation with Yazidi human rights activist Nadia Murad. An ISIS survivor, Nobel Peace Prize nominee and UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Dignity of Survivors of Human Trafficking, Murad is making international headlines by bringing ISIS to court.

PRI’s Across Women’s Lives correspondent Jasmine Garsd will interview Murad live at the Brooklyn Public Library about her life as a trafficking survivor and international representative of the Yazidi women’s struggle. They will discuss Nadia’s personal experiences, her advocacy for ethno-religious minorities in Iraq and Syria, and the challenges and goals of her fight to bring the Yazidi cause to justice.

A Q&A will follow.

About PRI’s Across Women’s Lives: Public Radio International’s stories of women and girls changing their worlds and ours, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. You can check out our work at pri.org/womenslives and on your local public radio station on “The World” with Marco Werman, a PRI and BBC co-production.
