PIONEER WORKS’ SCIENTIFIC CONTROVERSIES: Is Reality Beautiful

Jul 22, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

| Free

The equations for atoms and light are almost literally the same equations that govern musical instruments and sound; the subatomic particles that are responsible that are responsible for most of our determined by simple geometric symmetries. The universe itself seems to want to embody beautiful and elegant forms. This Wednesday, Janna Lavin, the first scientist-in-residence at Pioneer Works, will facilitate a mind-shifting conversation with Frank Wilczek (Nobel Laureate, Physics) and Glennys Farrar (Professor of Physics, NYU) as they probe the intersection of art and science, the underlying design of the universe, and, ultimately, the reality of Beauty.

Following the dialogue, Frak Wilczek will host a book signing for his new title, A Beautiful Question: Finding Nature’s Deep Design, which came out this week (July 14) with Penguin Press.

The series is sponsored by Nanotronics.
