Join photographers Nick Girlando, Erica Reade, and Andreea Waters for Picture Rockaway, on Saturday May 23rd at 7:00PM at the Rockaway Beach Surf Club, Queens, NY.

The exhibit will showcase a multi-media presentation of New York ocean community, surf culture and endless summer vibes. Rockaway Beach is often referred to as an artist utopia, the place where New Yorkers go for inspiration. Each photographer will share their connection and artistic take on the places, people and environment that surround this urban and vibrant beach community.

Picture Rockaway Photography Show is in collaboration with the Locals Surf School Summer Kick Off Party. Come see and celebrate.

The Photographers Nick Girlando (@nickgirlando) was born and raised in Rockaway Beach. He is a skateboarder, photographer and raveling Sales Representative for Herschel Supply Co. Always on the move, he puts his own style into what he sees and captures in those moments, so his viewers can relive them. His photos range from the craziness of a city street to the serene sunsets over Jamaica Bay or the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

Erica Reade‘s (@ereadealot) beach photography evokes feelings of nostalgia. She captures the romance of the nestled beach gem that is Rockaway, amidst the busy, hurried NYC. Erica is a surfer and beach bum at heart, and she pays homage to her love of nostalgic images by using only film and polaroid photography.

Andreea Waters (@andreeawaters) photography captures the mood, atmosphere and art of surfing. When you least expect it she is on the beach, resulting in powerful and authentic photographs that represent timeless moments in East Coast surfing. Currently Andreea is working with Schiffer Publishing to release a photography book titled, Surf NYC – a visual story and celebration of ocean community, passion and New York surfer soul.
