Ophira Eisenberg and Emily Flake Present: SH!T SHOW
Dec 9, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm| $8
A Night Of Parent Themed Comedy
~ because you should laugh while you still can ~
*tickets available at unionhallny.com
After two sold out shows, Ophira Eisenberg (NPR’s Ask Me Another) and Emily Flake (The New Yorker) have decided to make SH!T SHOW a “thing”. Returning on Friday, December 9th to Union Hall in Brooklyn, SH!T SHOW promises a night of comedy that comes from vulnerability, high risk choices, and the utter absurdity of being a parent. This is not a: let’s make fun of sippy cups and dirty diapers kind of night. At SH!T SHOW, you’ll hear jokes and stories more of the how a mother explained death to her death-obsessed 4 year old variety.
Hosted by Ophira Eisenberg (NPR’s Ask Me Another) and Emily Flake (The New Yorker), SH!T SHOW features comedians Ritch Duncan (Senior Writer, truTV), Matt Goldich (Writer, Late Night with Seth Meyers), Dava Krause (House, M.D.), Michelle Laikowski (Producer, Jenny McCarthy Show), and musical guest Eli Reed…plus maybe more, or maybe less if someone’s asshole kid gets sick…
Some comedians are unwise enough to breed – and on this night, they will mine the fallout of that decision on stage. None of the children of the performers are likely to be present, which is a good thing, because they’re probably gonna say really mean things about them.
ABOUT THE COMICS
Ophira Eisenberg is a comedian, writer, and host of NPR’s trivia comedy show, Ask Me Another where she has interviewed and played silly games with Sir Patrick Stewart, Ethan Hawke, Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne, Lewis Black, Aimee Mann and more. She has appeared on The Nightly Show, The Late Late Show, The Today Show, Comedy Central, and VH-1. Selected as one of New York Magazine’s Top 10 Comics that Funny People Find Funny, and featured in The New York Times as a skilled comedian and storyteller with a “bleakly stylish” sense of humor, Ophira’s debut memoir, Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy was optioned for a feature film with Zucker Productions. She is a regular host and teller with The Moth, and was recently on the season finale of HBO’s hit original series Girls, as herself.
Emily Flake is a New Yorker cartoonist, a writer, an illustrator, and the author of a book called Mama Tried, which is cartoons and essays about parenting. It features a lot of cuss words.
