Olympic Sponsors Global Speak Out against Russian anti-gay laws – NYC event
Feb 5, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm| Free
Amidst Putin’s anti-gay crackdown, the Sochi Olympics will hold their opening ceremony on Feb 7th. With all eyes on Russia, this is the perfect time to speak out.
So, a few days earlier, on Wednesday, February 5th, activists and concerned citizens are gathering together around the world to speak out for love. Let’s use this Global Speak Out as a huge day of love and hope for Russia, and push our world leaders to call on President Putin to repeal the anti-gay law.
Join us at McDonalds, Times Square at 7:00PM for the #p6 Global Speak Out!
We’re not alone. On February 5th, other cities around the world will gather at Russian embassies and town centers in solidarity with all Russians, gay and straight, affected by these ‘propaganda’ laws while celebrating love, equality, and freedom of speech for all people.
Not around on Wednesday? Join another event near you: www.allout.org/p6events… and if there isn’t an event near you, plan one!
All Out encourages people to remain peaceful and positive to urge world leaders, Olympic officials and athletes to pressure Putin to end the crackdown on Russian human rights.
Stay tuned here for updates and downloadable posters for Wednesday’s event!
