WHY Nearly 700,000 people in the U.S. are living with a brain tumor today, and close to 14,000 people will die because of the disease this year alone. Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related death in children under age 10. Only one out of three adults diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor today will be alive in five years. More so than any other cancer, a brain tumor can have life-altering psychological, cognitive, behavioral and physical effects.

Despite these facts, brain tumor research remains grossly underfunded and the availability of effective treatments is severely limited. National Brain Tumor Society works to meet the vast needs of the brain tumor community by collaborating with leading institutions across the United States to improve clinical trials and fund promising research for the discovery of new treatments and ultimately a cure.
