For their first show, they are screening Mean Streets, Martin Scorsese’s first feature, starring YOUNG Harvey Keitel and YOUNGER Robert De Niro. The film is about Little Italy in the early 70s. Scorsese uses textures unusual for the time–Super 8 footage and modern pop music. It is said that Phil Spector took credit for Marty’s whole career because of the abundance of his songs on the soundtrack.
