Manhattanville Reading Series 3

The third edition of the Manhattanville Reading Series, a monthly Crown Heights-based showcase for emerging writers, features award-winning novelist Alexandra Kleeman (You Too Can Have a Body Like Mine) and rising stars Deirdre Coyle (Luna, Luna), Aurvi Sharma (Gulf Coast), and Morgan Beatty (The Brooklyn Quarterly). Admission is free, and mingling encouraged.
ALEXANDRA KLEEMAN is a NYC-based writer of fiction and nonfiction, and the winner of the 2016 Bard Fiction Prize. Her fiction has been published in The Paris Review, Zoetrope: All-Story, Conjunctions, Guernica, and Gulf Coast, among others. Nonfiction essays and reportage have appeared in Harper’s, Tin House, n+1, and The Guardian. She is the author of the debut novel You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine and the upcoming short story collection Intimations..
DEIRDRE COYLE is a writer, fashion librarian, and non-practicing mermaid living in Brooklyn. She edits Mixtape Methodology, and her work has appeared in Hello Giggles, Luna Luna Magazine, Cheap Pop, and elsewhere. She lives at @DeirdreKoala.
AURVI SHARMA is the winner of the 2015 Gulf Coast Prize in Nonfiction, the AWP WC&C Scholarship for emerging writers, and the Prairie Schooner Nonfiction Contest. Her writing has appeared in Fourth Genre, Everyday Genius and Remedy Quarterly. In 2012, Sharma was a recipient of the Sarai Nonfiction Fellowship, during which she travelled to 16th-century ruins located on the banks of dying rivers in North India. Learn more at(www.aurvi.com.
