Makossa BK 2017 Season Finale (w/ Zephyr Ann, Juan G + Bembona) at OWL
September 2 @ 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm| Free
Yeah, we can’t believe how fast this summer has flown by either. And what a summer it has been. Thank you a million times over to every single person who has come out and shared good times with us on the Our Wicked Lady this roof. In a world where insane, unthinkable things happen on an almost daily basis at this point, it’s good to know that there are times where we can take a mental vacation from it all, if only for a few hours.
It’s more important than ever for us to keep building community and stay close with each other. And if there’s a little music, drink and food to accompany that, it makes it even more enjoyable. Labor Day Weekend, y’all!
Our 2017 season comes to an end on September 2nd with three guest DJs/#MakossaBK first timers. Come through and bring all that good energy with you. We’ll give it right back.

2017 marks the Makossa Brooklyn Cookout entering its eighth consecutive summer. Still considered one of the best outdoor summer soirees in Brooklyn (and officially voted one of the 20 Best Summertime Parties in NYC by Time Out New York in 2014), Wonway Posibul of Latin Soul Brothers links up with NYC-based event promotion team Rare Form to bring his famous Makossa sound from San Francisco to NYC to create a bi-coastal vibe like none other. The monthly cookouts have garnered a loyal following, a multitude of acclaim and success since its birthplace, the backyard of Fresthetic, a boutique / gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
