MAKE IT MONTAGUE

Sep 18, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

| Free

COME OUTSIDE TO PLAY. EAT. DRINK. ENJOY.

Street Party with a twist to benefit Brooklyn’s District 13 school kids in need

FREE: Shaves, hair braiding, entertainment, Brooklyn Ballet, vintage cars, yoga, live music, food & drink and more

Come out and enjoy Make it Montague – a street party with a twist in Brooklyn Heights. Bistro chairs tables,  larger then life games, corn hole, jugglers, live entertainment, activities for all ages and vintage cars will dot the street. Giveaways, gifts with purchase, complimentary food, drink, and cotton candy will abound at this free public event.

Highlights of the free activities at businesses outdoors on Montague Street include a performance by Brooklyn Ballet, a piano concert, work out and yoga classes by Dodge YMCA, Orange Theory, and Yoga People, shaves for men and mini makeovers for women by City Chemist, eyebrow waxing by European Wax, hair braiding and mini mani-pedis by Ricky’s, chocolate decorating by Chocolate Works, artists at Daphne Art Gallery, skin consultations by Kiehl’s, balloon making with Kiddie Korner and special guests from the Love Yourself Project fostering self-love with their signature 10,000 Hearts 2020 origami heart program.

Make it Montague also marks the launch of Montague Matters, a month-long kindness campaign to collect backpacks, lunch boxes, pens, pencils and other school supplies to benefit Brooklyn’s District 13 school kids in need. District 13 encompasses Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford Stuyvesant, along Flatbush Avenue Extension and Brooklyn Heights. Everyone is encouraged to bring a school supply, or new or gently used backpack or lunch box to donate. Items donated in Montague Matters drop boxes will be confidentially distributed to students every week by District 13 staff.

It’s a great opportunity to come together outside as a neighborhood, have fun, listen to music, eat and drink, enjoy a little local culture and  to support the shops, restaurants and businesses on the block. There’ll be something for everyone to enjoy. And, everything is free.

During Make it Montague, stores, businesses and restaurants will offer special discounts, gifts with purchase, complimentary refreshments and giveaways. New activities are being added daily. For a complete list, visit www.montaguebid.com
