LoftOpera Stabat Mater

Soprano Heather Buck and countertenor Randall Scotting are featured in LoftOpera’s staged performances of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, running for four consecutive weekends this summer (June 16-17, June 23-24, June 30-July 1, and July 7-8) at The Muse—Brooklyn’s premier circus school. All performances begin at 8:30 p.m.; doors open at 7:30 p.m.
LoftOpera’s interpretation of the Stabat Mater additionally features four dancers as well as costuming by fashion designer Christian Joy, known for her innovative designs for Childish Gambino, and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Also included as part of the performance are arias and chamber works by Vivaldi, including his Sinfonia al Santo Sepolcro in B minor for strings; Sonata à 4 al Santo Sepolcro in E flat major; Sovente il sole; and Nulla in mundo pax sincera, accompanied by video projections designed by Films by Francesco.
John de los Santos directs and choreographs, and Brian Gilling serves as music director and conductor.
