Join us for a reception with the artists on Friday, May 19, from 6- 8:30 pm at 640 Classon Avenue.
Shoestring Studio is pleased to present a group exhibition featuring four unique artists each displaying their interpretation of line as both a literal and metaphorical concept. Bethany Johnson presents meticulously crafted black and white collages from her series “Notes for an Emergency”, on which she reflects on an interest in nature and numbers. Corwin Levi explores the sky and sea through his intimate mixed media drawings and paintings, pieces which are both quiet and controlled while simultaneously rustling with movement. Robin Meyer’s interest lies in the socio-economic lines that divide communities in Baltimore and other struggling cities. Judy Stone infers a different type of place in her geometric tape on glass drawings, each drawing is literally connected to the others by lines placed directly onto the gallery wall, creating the appearance of a psychological map.
