Letting Go of the Past, Finding Freedom in the Present

Aug 8, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

| $15

Behind many of our painful experiences lurk deeply hidden patterns, the origins of which lie forgotten or unacknowledged, locked away in the past.

These formative events condition the way we think, affecting how we view ourselves and our surroundings. They disturb our minds in ways we may not be able to recognize, causing us to enact repetitive patterns that bring emotional pain and confusion that follow us like a shadow throughout our lives. It is as though we remain trapped within a prison whose walls are undetected.

However, our most persistent difficulties and confusions may provide us with the keys to a freedom that lies totally beyond what we thought were our limits. Those situations that made us anxious or defensive in the past may be a rich resource for inner growth and confidence, the cause of fearless joy and compassion

In this Buddhist meditation day course, we will learn methods that will enable us to let go of these troubling patterns, to look into our pain with kindness and honesty. Allowing the light of wisdom to illuminate the situation, we can release layer after layer of confusion and fear, generating the confidence to live free from the pain of our past.

Everyone is welcome.
