Kombucha Brooklyn Factory Tour

Oct 4, 2013 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

| Free
KombuchaTHUMB

NYCrafted takes you behind the labels, to the intersection of craft and technology fueling New York City’s urban manufacturing revitalization. This multi-media celebration of National Manufacturing Day shares the place-based narratives of four exemplary NYC-based manufacturers: Martin Greenfield Clothiers, Jacques Torres Chocolate, Kombucha Brooklyn and Rock Paper Robot. Meet the crafters, take the tours and explore the web of businesses that brings NYCrafted products into your home.

Take a tour of Kombucha Brooklyn. Headed by the “Mom-and-Pop” team of Jessica and Eric Childs, Kombucha Brooklyn (KBBK) nourishes the body and mind with healthful and delicious probiotic tea, or Kombucha. This location in the Old Pfizer Building is the nervecenter of KBBK’s operation: it’s home to R&D, educational classes and the manufacturing or assembly of 60% of KBBK’s products, by gross intake. KBBK’s ‘buch is available in other forms: the Kombucha On Tap program that now has over 50 tap locations in NYC, as well as a complete line of Home Brew Supplies available at face-to-face and virtual stores worldwide.
