Ironclad Bourbon of Virginia tasting at Duke’s Liquor Box

May 13 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

| Free
Ironclad Distillery is hosting a tasting of it’s flagship (and only) product, Ironclad Bourbon at Duke’s Liquor Box in Greenpoint on Saturday, May 13th, from 3–6pm.

The distillery opened a year and a half ago in Newport News, VA, and we currently sell our bourbon in stores across the state. Named after the Civil War era ships that fought in the waters directly behind our distillery, there’s also a Greenpoint connection, as the USS Monitor was built just blocks from where Duke’s Liquor Box is located now. Now, for the first time ever, Ironclad is making an appearance in Brooklyn.

Our bourbon is made using locally sourced grains—including wheat from the oldest farm in America. While our mashbill is a bit rye-forward, we conform to the strict definition of American Bourbon, producing in small batches, and letting the weather, brackish air of the James River, and time do the rest. We think it’s pretty great, and we were just awarded a bronze medal by the American Distillers Institute (so maybe we’re not wrong?).
