Indoor Composting: Turning Waste into Black Gold
Jan 29, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm| $35
We generate a lot of food waste at home – up to 20% of the average New Yorker’s trash is actually compostable food waste! These scraps add up, and can be turned into nutrient rich plant food with the help of marvelous red worms and other decomposers.
In this workshop, Brooklyn Mompost will lead us in exploring a robust worm bin and then show you how to start one from scratch. But worms… how do you keep those guys alive?! Not to worry, we’ll go through the ins and outs of easily maintaining a worm bin and keeping your red wigglers alive and well. Get your planters ready, you’ll have gorgeous new soil in no time!
Participants will leave with the knowledge to start their own worm bin at home in a few easy steps.
