New York City has seen its share of storytelling series over the years. From The Moth, to Long Story Long, to How I Learned, and everything-in-between, New Yorkers have been upholding the “spoken tradition” since the inception of the boroughs themselves. In “How to Build a Fire: Advancing the Oral Tradition,” poet Terence Degnan, curator and host of the series, explores the course of the narrative, not only as it is heard, but also as it experiences its reiterations.

For the season finale, hear encore stories from some of this year’s best:
Reggie Cunningham (songwriter, local bartender), Marian Fontana (writer, performer, founder of 9-11 Families Association), Susan Kellman (litigator and criminal defense attorney), Shawn Lyons (performance artist, owner of RABBITHOLESTUDIO/Rabbit Movers), Dennis Earl Norris (writer), Bud Smith (writer), Ed Smith (local business owner), Casey, Sean, and Terence Degnan

With performances by:
Paul Tabachneck, Herb Harris, and Jennifer Dohne
