High Line Open Studios
Oct 15, 2016 - Oct 16, 2016| $0.00
The artists of High Line Open Studios invite the public to step inside their private studios during the Fall 2016 art season.
On this self-guided tour, visitors will have exclusive access to private artists’ studios based in the heart of the West Chelsea Arts District, where visitors will have exclusive access to over 75 private artists’ studios in more than 10 buildings. The artists will open their doors to the public on Saturday, Sunday, October 15 – 16, 2016 from 12pm-6pm.
The self guided tour begins at the West Chelsea Arts Building on West 26th Street. Pick up the MAP and event information in the lobbies at 508 and 516 West 26th St. and begin your artists’ studio tour.
You can also pick up the MAP at the WestBeth Artists building at 55 Bethune St. and start your art tour there and take the High Line Park to the West Chelsea Art district, (26th Street High Line exit), to visit other opens studios.
Be sure to stop by Artist Rodney Durso’s studio, located in building number 526, on the fifth floor, studio 503. With only 32 days until the election, this is the perfect time to see Rodney’s strangely, dark and humorous over-sized Trump collages. His newest series, Disconstructing Trump, which has been enlarged and reprinted as archival inkjet prints, and other works he has recently completed as well as other ongoing projects, will be on display.
Also join us for a Preview Reception and Exhibition on Friday October 14th from 6pm-8pm. The exhibition will feature many of the other artists who work in the West Chlesea Building, and will also be open to the public over the open studios weekend from 12pm-6pm. The exhibition will be located at the Highline Loft, 508 West 26th Street, 5th floor.
