Harvest Festival at Hollenback Community Garden

Hollenback Community Garden is hosting its annual fundraising event, Harvest Festival. Enjoy pizza from the grill, shop in the pop-up shop, jam on the ukulele, or win a prize in our raffle. And so much more…
This year’s event is scheduled for September 23, alongside the neighborhood block party—guaranteeing even more fun for everyone!
Pizza—We’ll be selling pizza slices made on the grill, that you can top with garden-sourced herbs.
Used Books—Donated by garden members
Baked Goods—Baked by garden members
Crafts—Smudge Sticks, Scented Sachets, Seed Kits, Potted Succulents, Lip Balms—Assembled by garden members
Herb Bundles—Collected by garden members
Win generous prizes from a variety of businesses, including Brooklyn Kitchen, Mekelburg’s, Alamo Drafthouse, Shake Shack, Mason Jar at Gotham Market, Oslo Coffee, Johnny’s Selected Seeds, Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store, and more! Tickets are $1 each, and winners do not need to be present.
Hollenback gardeners will compete for Best Produce (tomatoes and more!), Best Preserves (sauces, jams, pickles!), and the Great Apple Challenge (using apples from our tree!)
The Clinton Hill Ukulele Social Club will swing by to play some tunes. They’ll bring some extra ukes with them, so that anyone can join! All levels welcome.
Kids of all ages can make their own grass seed heads to grow at home, plus seed shakers to use as musical instruments.

The Wa-Greene block party will be happening just outside our gates—along Washington Avenue, between Gates & Greene. They’ll have a DJ, live music, food and snacks, plus various activities for kids, including a bounce house, face painting, and a visit from the NY Fire Department.
