GREEN-WOOD COMMEMORATES THE NATION’S HEROES AT ITS 19TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT
May 29 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm| Free
Free Outdoor Concert by the ISO Symphonic Band followed by Special Trolley and Walking Tours.
Celebrate the unofficial start of summer at the Green-Wood’s 19th annual Memorial Day concert. Visitors will sit among Green-Wood’s rolling hills and listen to the ISO Symphonic Band – a wind, brass and percussion ensemble comprising some of the most talented student musicians in the New York metro area, led by its founder and conductor Brian P. Worsdale. The works of many of Green-Wood’s permanent residents, including Fred Ebb, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Leonard Bernstein, and Paul Jabara, will be played throughout the afternoon.
The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. and visitors are invited to bring a blanket and enjoy this outdoor performance of patriotic favorites. Directly after the concert, enjoy specially-themed Memorial Day trolley and walking tours. (Space is limited. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.)
Local vendors will offer food and beverages for purchase throughout the day.
Trolley and Walking Tour (with limited spaces): Immediately following the concert.
The concert is free, but RSVPs are strongly recommended. For the post-concert tours, the tickets are $25; $20 for members of the Green-Wood Historic Fund and the Brooklyn Historical Society. Advance ticket purchase recommended. If the tours are not sold out in advance, walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
