On Thursday, Feb 25 at 10pm, New York Comedy Club presents “Goin’ In”, a new comedy show that lets comedians square off against one another, ridiculing, clowning, straight hatin’ on current events and public figures. Think ESPN’s “Around the Horn” if it were comedians skilled in the art of hating instead of blowhard sports journalists.
Goin’ In is hosted by Kenny DeForest (Comedy at the Knitting Factory) and Nate Fridson (Bridgetown Comedy Festival) – two very accomplished haters in their own rights.
It’s 2016 and there’s no shortage of pop-culture, sports, fashion, and news stories – and most of it is, ahem, straight garbage. Where most people see a distraction from work, DeForest and Fridson see an opportunity to cast shade on all of it in this new, innovative, and competitive show. New York’s best comics will be called to the stage to face off against one another in a series of challenges to determine who’s got the most hate in their hearts.
The line-up for Goin’ In on February 25th boasts these notable performers:
Kevin Barnett (TruTV’s Friends of the People)
Josh Rabinowitz (TruTV’s Friends of the People)
Hadiyah Robinson (The Nightly Show)
Mike Recine (Conan)
“I only wish that some of the people we’re making fun of were at the show to hear just how dumb they are,” said Fridson. “But then again, how dumb would that be for them to come to the show and hear how dumb they are? Or would that make them smart? Stop asking me stupid questions and come to the show.”
