New York: Book Signing and Q&A @ Rough Trade NYC

Forty years ago, a revolution—in the impressive guise of a melee—kicked off to the spit and snarl of Johnny Rotten, demanding his audience to “Get pissed/Destroy!” The Sex Pistols iconic first record release “Anarchy in the UK,” reverberating with youthful frustration and violence, embodied the punk rock spirit.
Though together for less than three years, the Sex Pistols defined the look, sound, and feel of the punk movement since they formed in London in 1975. Join writer and curator Johan Kugelberg, Punk Magazine founding editor John Holmstrom, and photographer Roberta Bayley, as they discuss with Vice reporter Thomas Morton the Sex Pistols’ impact on the musical and cultural landscape of the last forty years at the launch of an enhanced edition of the original Rizzoli publication, God Save Sex Pistols.
God Save Sex Pistols is a definitive celebration packed with previously unseen material of the original punk band—a group that defined a movement, energized a generation, and brought punk music and the provocative safety-pin fashion aesthetic to the mainstream, changing the worlds of music, fashion, youth culture and design forever.
