Get Inspired! A Launch Party & Screening
Nov 5, 2013 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 pm| $6
A celebration and viewing of the online release of the webseries “Uninspired” (by Becky Yamamoto) with live performances by special guests Megan Neuringer, Lisa Delarios and Katina Corrao.
Becky Yamamoto is a comedic performer and writer originally from the smoggy burbs of LA. Her past work includes solo shows performed at The UCB, Ars Nova, The PIT, Here Arts Center. She co-hosts and produces a weekly standup show at the Beauty Bar. She has appeared in a few websries (Jack In a Box, Two Jasperjohns, Lost in Brooklyn). Theater credits: “Pullman, WA”: Chelsea Theater, U.K.“Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven”: NY Premiere: Here Arts Center, U.S. Tour and International touring. Vengeance Can Wait, PS 122.
KATINA CORRAO is an actress, comedian, and writer living in NYC. She just finished a dream job writing questions for The Newlywed Game and warming up The Jenny McCarthy Show! You may have seen Katina on Comedy Central, OWN, HBO, College Humor, Barely Political (with the Key of Awesome), Late Night Republic, and on VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live and Best Night Ever. She’s been nominated for an ECNY for Best Female Comedian and has appeared in numerous web series including Jack In A Box (Winner of Best Web Series at the 2010 NYTF) and Kid Farm! on ComedyCentral.com. She has an award-winning series of her own called The Good Neighbor Minute, which explores Katina’s desire to be the nosey neighbor in a sit-com. She has been featured in Time Out New York, Reader’s Digest, Broadway World, and in New York Magazine’s Vulture section. She loves seltzer water with lots of ice and is literally the only comedian in New York City (and probably Los Angeles) who is writing a sit-com pilot starring herself.
Megan Neuringer is a writer and actor and has been performing at the UCB since 2004. She is a panelist on Best Week Ever and is a talking-head on all those other VH1 shows you watch at the gym. Other television credits include: HBO’s Flight Of The Conchords, Fox’s Fringe, MTV’s Human Giant Marathon, and Comedy Central’s Strangers With Candy. Television writing credits: VH1, Comedy Central, Spike, Bravo, MTV, The Travel Channel, Fuse, Logo, and recently, freelance joke writing for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Megan is myopic and wears glasses.
The comedy of Lisa deLarios saunters through a maze that begins with classical grace and ends at modern irony. Hardly ever is true whimsy this quiet. Beginning with a childhood in East Texas that has become an adulthood in New York City, her thinking is equal parts natural and man-made. A bohemian at heart, she has wowed audiences on both coasts like a comedy Gypsy. Bringing a turn-of-the-century modesty to an art form badly in need of such, Lisa’s timelessness has not been eroded by the vulgarity du jour. Her delivery is comfortable but with bite, much like catching crabs from a used pair of pants. Lisa has performed at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival and on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham.
