GEEKING OUT is a comedy show that brings crazy-talented writers, comedians, storytellers, and actors together for a night of shameless nerding out on the bands they love, the celebrities they obsess over and the video games that nearly wore their thumbs to stumps. Join us for a fun-filled night of true tales and PowerPoint presentations that embrace the undying enthusiasm and unchallengeable knowledge of a SUPERFAN!

January’s mega line-up includes:

Simon Rich is an American humorist, novelist, and television writer, known for being the second youngest writer ever hired on Saturday Night Live and writing the Thurber Prize-nominated humor collection Ant Farm: And Other Desperate Situations. He is also the author of Free Range Chickens, Elliot Allagash, What in God’s Name: A novel, and Last Girlfriend on Earth.

Myq Kaplan recently made his debut on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” his half-hour “Comedy Central Presents” special debuted earlier this year, and he was recently a Top 5 finalist on the most recent season of Last Comic Standing. He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” at the New Faces show of the 2009 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, was voted 2008’s Best Local Comedian in the Boston Phoenix, and won the 2009 NY’s Funniest Standup Competition.

Mark Normand was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, where at an early age he was exposed to the odd sides of life. As a kid he spent most of his time acting in plays and shooting short films. Mark started doing comedy right after college and quickly moved to New York. Mark now works comedy clubs and colleges across the country and has been involved in many festivals including Portland, Seattle, DC, Boston and most recently was featured at the Montreal Comedy Festival. Mark also recently appeared on the last season of Last Comic Standing. In NYC Mark now runs two independent comedy shows, one of which is recorded for a popular podcast called ‘We’re all Friends Here’ on Breakthruradio.com.

Shannon Coffey is an actress, writer and comedian living in Brooklyn. She has acted and written for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She’s appeared in commercials for MTV, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, Rhapsody Ibiza and Target. She’s been an on-camera host/pop-culture commentator for Epix, Pitchfork TV, MTV International and Fuse. Shannon produces new weekly content on her youtube channels “Coffey Chat” and “Random Ass Girly Channel.” All of her content is entirely created, shot and edited by her.
