This FREE 2 hour self-defense class is open to individuals who self-identify as female, trans, and gender non-conforming.

The workshop will consist of realistic and practical self-defense techniques. We will offer advice on how to avoid physical altercations in the first place, and also teach effective ways to get out of them if push comes to shove (literally!). No previous experience is necessary. All levels of ability and skill are welcome.

The class will be held at Traditional Okinawan Karate of Brooklyn (tokarate.com) located at 248 McKibbin St. (Bushwick/White). The dojo is in the basement and has its own entrance, call if you can’t find it (718-418-9892).

Space is limited. Please register by calling the dojo at 718-418-9892.

Wear anything you feel comfortable moving around in and breaking a sweat.

Class starts at 11:30am, please be on time.

Sorry, but male-identified folks are not welcome to participate in this particular workshop, though we encourage you to come by for karate classes (free for your first 2 weeks!) any time. Check out http://tokarate.com/schedule.html for the class schedule.
