We’re kicking off the warm season with a Summer Blockbuster! VICTOR LAVALLE is the author, most recently, of the novel The Changeling and the comic book Destroyer. He is also the author of three previous novels, The Ecstatic, Big Machine, and The Devil in Silver, two novellas, Lucretia and the Kroons and The Ballad of Black Tom, and the short story collection Slapboxing with Jesus. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including a Whiting Writers’ Award, a United States Artists Ford Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Shirley Jackson Award, an American Book Award, and the key to Southeast Queens. He lives in Washington Heights with his wife and kids. And teaches at Columbia University.

JASON REYNOLDS is crazy. About stories. He is a New York Times bestselling author, a National Book Award Honoree, a Kirkus Award winner, a Walter Dean Myers Award winner, an NAACP Image Award Winner, and the recipient of multiple Coretta Scott King honors. His debut novel was When I Was the Greatest and was followed by Boy in the Black Suit and All American Boys (cowritten with Brendan Kiely); As Brave As You; Jump Anyway; and the first two books in the Track series, Ghost and Patina. JULIA FIERRO is the author of the novels The Gypsy Moth Summer and Cutting Teeth. Her work has been published in Poets & Writers, Buzzfeed, Glamour, The Millions, Flavorwire, and other publications, and she has been profiled in Brooklyn Magazine, the L Magazine, The Observer and The Economist. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she founded The Sackett Street Writers’ Workshop in 2002, which has grown into a creative home to 4,000 writers in NYC, Los Angeles, and online. SSWW was named “Best Writing Classes” by The Village Voice and Time Out New York, and “Best MFA-Alternative” by Poets & Writers. She lives in Brooklyn and Santa Monica with writer Justin Feinstein and their two children.

JESSIE CHAFFEE is the author of the novel Florence in Ecstasy. She was awarded a 2014-2015 Fulbright Grant in Creative Writing to Italy to complete the novel, during which time she was the Writer-in-Residence at Florence University of the Arts. Her writing has been published in The Rumpus, Bluestem, Global City Review, Big Bridge, and The Sigh Press, among others. She lives in New York City, where she is an editor at Words Without Borders, an online magazine of international literature.

JULIE BUNTIN is the author of the novel Marlena. Her work has appeared in the Atlantic,
Cosmopolitan, O, The Oprah Magazine, Slate, Electric Literature, and One Teen Story, among other publications. She teaches fiction writing at Marymount Manhattan College, and is the director of writing programs at Catapult. She is from northern Michigan and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
