Join Coach Colette and Tim as they share the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of foraging and eating local, wild plants. Plus, get connected to a new community of Wellness Foragers!

As you explore Prospect Park, Tim will reveal the wide variety of edible plants and uncover the many benefits of incorporating wild greens into your diet (vs. store-bought greens).
Coach Colette will guide you through Mindful Eating, EFT/Tapping, & Walking Meditations to help you slow down and relax into a calmer (yet focused) mindset — to appreciate the benefits of communing with nature to reduce your stress and anxiety.

Colette Ellis is an author, coach and transformational speaker on mindfulness, motivation, and workplace stress. She is contributing author toTransform Your Life With One Call: America’s Top Life Coaches Reveal What You Need to Know in which she describes benefits of wellness coaching and debunks common coaching myths. Her book, Focus on Your Vision, helps readers clarify priorities and optimize their personal balance. Clients transform their lives and realize results faster via her insightful coaching and interactive seminars on wellness, leadership, and coalition building. Colette is a certified instructor of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, FOCUS: Achieving Your Highest Priorities, and Coping with Work & Family Stress™. A featured eHow.com contributor on Workplace Morale, her advice on Optimism and Motivation has appeared in Real Simple Magazine and Small Business Chronicle. Colette began her nonprofit career as Development Assistant with The New York Botanical Garden, helping to secure funding for Bronx Green-Up and other Garden programs.
Tim Keating began foraging for wild edibles forty years ago, after seeing Euell Gibbons talking about the edibility of pine trees. Already a naturalist, the idea that the ‘woods’ were also food pushed Tim further into an amazing journey. Learning as much from field guides as school textbooks, Tim began serving on his town’s environmental commission at the age of 16 — the youngest appointed official the town had ever had. With a degree in Environmental Science, Tim co-founded and has directed Rainforest Relief for 25 years. He has explored the depths of the ensuing biological cataclysm and modern humans’ perpetration of it, writing and speaking about over-consumption, dearth of community (both human and ecological), health crises, and deep loneliness and angst resulting from our culture having ‘separated’ ourselves from the natural world.
Participants will be asked to sign a waiver and photo release prior to participating in the event.
