Feb 5, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm| Free
On February 5th at 7PM, FAMP Art will present a special free screening of Fernando Meirelles’s incredible Brazilian crime drama, City of God, at Videology.
Hailed as one of the best foreign films of all-time, City of God is the movie you show to your subtitle hating friends and family members if you want to sway them to embrace foreign cinema. It’s the film you show your fellow movie-lovers if you want to blow their mind. Yes, it’s that good and it’s the reason why FAMP Art exists to begin with. They want to share this movie with the world and, while doing so, they will be releasing a new poster for it.
When the film ends, they will have a new, officially licensed, limited edition, screen printed poster by renowned artist Paul Shipper on hand and available for purchase. The poster will be 24”x36”, is an edition of 40 pieces, and will cost $50 (cash and credit accepted). Based in New York, FAMP Art is a company that specializes in creating officially licensed, limited edition screen printed posters of foreign films, pre-1980s classics and a few random goodies here and there of things we simply love.

In the midst of the oppressive crime and violence, a young boy will grow up to discover that he can view the harsh realities of his surroundings with an artistic eye. In the face of impossible odds, his brave ambition to become a professional photographer becomes a window into his world and ultimately his way out.
