Woodworking has a long and rich history at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Once a hub of wooden shipbuilding, today the Yard is a thriving industrial park where craftsmen work with wood to make custom architectural interiors, cabinets, lamps, cutting boards and more! Meet the “makers” on this behind-the-scenes tour that brings you through the wood shops and studios of three of the many craftsmen that are “making wood work” at the Yard today.

BLDG 92 is thrilled to launch this new tour on National Manufacturing Day, MFG Day, 2013.

Tours last approximately 90 minutes and start and end at BLDG 92. Part of this tour requires climbing stairs. If you are interested in coming and have questions about accessibility, please call us for further information. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Participants must wear closed toed shoes and will be asked to wear safety goggles for portions of the tour.

Space is limited. If you’re interested in attending an already sold-out Factory Tour, please email info@bldg92.org to be put on a waiting list and receive information about upcoming tours.
