You’re invited to this special event hosted by the EcoHealth Alliance Young Professionals Council. Come and have a drink at the Brooklyn Brewery with us, and learn the facts about Ebola at “Ebola in the Age of Pandemics”.
Doors open at 7:30pm, where guests will have access to unlimited beer provided by Brooklyn Brewery. At 8:00 pm, Drs. Jon Epstein and Kevin Olival from EcoHealth Alliance will be doing a presentation on the facts about Ebola and other deadly infectious diseases: where did Ebola come from, and what can we expect to happen next? How does human interference with the environment have anything to do with infectious disease? And, more importantly, if we continue to fail to understand and take care of the natural world, what other threats will we ultimately face?
Join Drs. Epstein and Olival and the EcoHealth Alliance Young Professionals Council for an informative and fun evening of networking and connecting with other NYC young professionals with a passion for public health, the environment and sustainability.
Tickets are $20 each for unlimited beer provided by Brooklyn Brewery!
About EcoHealth Alliance:
Building on over 40 years of groundbreaking science, EcoHealth Alliance is a global, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and safeguarding human health from the emergence of disease. The organization develops ways to combat the effects of damaged ecosystems on human and wildlife health. Using environmental and health data covering the past 60 years, EcoHealth Alliance scientists created the first-ever, global disease hotspots map that identified at-risk regions, to help predict and prevent the next pandemic crisis. That work is the foundation of EcoHealth Alliance’s rigorous, science-based approach, focused at the intersection of the environment, health, and capacity building. Working in the U.S. and more than 20 countries worldwide, EcoHealth Alliance’s strength is founded on innovations in research, training, global partnerships, and policy initiatives.
