Easy Chinese Herbal Broths for Winter

Need some fresh kitchen inspiration this winter? Curious about how to use Chinese herbs in your cooking? Want to learn about potent vegetarian alternatives to bone broth? Join us and learn how you can boost immunity and stay nourished through the Winter with easy Chinese herbal broths.
In this two-hour workshop, nationally certified Chinese Herbalist and Help Your Self’s resident Acupuncturist, Aimée Derbes, will explore food as medicine using the most common Chinese herbs (Hint: Some are culinary herbs and spices you already have at home!). You’ll get to know several groups of herbs, when to use them, and how to incorporate them easily into your cooking — whether as standalone brews, or as nutrient boosting additions to Winter broths.
You’ll also help prepare and taste a few herbal decoctions — all safe for children, and pregnant or postpartum women, incredibly restorative for anyone living with long-term illness and great for all-around health and wellness.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a detailed handout that includes information about each herb, recipes and cooking instructions, and where to buy more of the herbs for yourself. You’ll also receive three sachets of raw Chinese herbs to use at home!
