We hope to see knitters, crocheters, weavers, drop spinners, and jewelers and on and on. Whatever you can shove in a bag we want you to bring, hang out and chat. There are some mini lessons that you can join if you like or ignore if you don’t.
This week, we will be sharing how to frog, or unravel a sweater making yards and yards of yarn available to you to repurpose. I use it to weave with but you could also re-knit it into other items like hats, baby blankets, or wristlets. You can crochet with it, embroider, or otherwise craft with it. Frogging is a great way to get the expensive yarn from an otherwise fugly sweater. Come with your own or use the testers I will bring. If you bring your own, please wash it first. The chunkier yarn the better. If it’s wool or wool blend make sure it’s not been felted. The best seams are those that do not have an overlock stitch. If you’re confused just bring it along and I’ll help from there. Of course feel free to ignore all frogging and get back to work on other projects.
