Collective Unconscious is a group of female artists who have come together to engage in revisiting past memories to understand how they affect and form our current reality and beyond. For their session, they plan to explore the concept of memory and the relationship between memories one cherishes versus memories one attempts to push away. Why do certain memories always rise to surface while others become buried deep within our psyches? Participants will to explore the binary between positive and negative memories. From the artists: “In doing so, we aim to understand both physically, spiritually, and quite literally, why certain memories seem to be engraved in our DNA.” This exhibit is part of Writing On It All, a participatory writing project open to all interested members of the public.
