BRUSH UP ON YOUR URBAN FORAGING SKILLS AT GREEN-WOOD

Apr 18, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

| $20
GW

Green-Wood’s 478 acres of rolling hills, mature trees, glacial ponds and natural grasses are the perfect place to celebrate nature, study ecology, and learn about the rich renewal resources right at our feet.

Wildman Steve Brill has, for thirty years, been teaching about (and eating!) wild greenery in urban space all over the New York area. On his first-ever foraging walk through Green-Wood, Brill will use Green-Wood’s historic landscape to teach adults and children alike about safe foraging practices, and demonstrate which delicious foods are hiding in broad daylight, ripe for the picking.

This event appears as part of “Nature in Our Midst” – a programming series presented with the Brooklyn Historical Society.

The cost for the walking tour is $20; $15 for members of the Green-Wood Historic Fund and the Brooklyn Historical Society, and $10 for kids 13 and under. Reservations are recommended. To make an online reservation or to find out more information, visit www.green-wood.com/toursevents or call 718-210-3080.
